16. కిం కర్మ కిమకర్మేతి కవయోప్యత్ర మోహితా: |
తత్తే కర్మ ప్రవక్ష్యామి యజ్ జ్ఞాత్వా మోక్షసే శుభాత్ ||
🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
కర్మయనగా నేమో మరియు అకర్మ యనగా నేమో నిర్ణయించుట యందు బుద్ధిమంతులు సైతము భ్రాంతినొంది యున్నారు. కనుక కర్మయనగా నేమో ఇప్పుడు నేను వివరింతును. దానిని తెలిసికొని నీవు అన్ని ఆశుభముల నుండియు ముక్తుడవు కాగలవు.
🌻. భాష్యము :
కృష్ణభక్తిరసభవిత కర్మను పూర్వపు ప్రామాణిక భక్తుల ఉపమానము ననుసరించియే ఒనరించవలెను. ఈ విషయము క్రిందటి పదునైదవశ్లోకమున ఉపదేశింపబడినది. కర్మను ఎందులకు స్వతంత్రముగా తోచినరీతిలో చేయరాదో రాబోవు శ్లోకమునందు వివరింపబడినది.
ఈ అధ్యాయపు ఆరంభములో తెలుపబడినట్లు కృష్ణభక్తిభావన యందు కర్మనొనరించుటకు గురుశిష్యపరంపరలో వచ్చుచున్న ప్రామాణిక వ్యక్తుల నాయకత్వమును అనుసరింపవలెను. ఈ విధానము తొలుత సూర్యదేవునకు వివరింపబడగా, సూర్యుడు తన తనయుడైన మనువునకు దానిని బోధించెను. పిదప మనువు దానిని తన పుత్రుడైన ఇక్ష్వాకునకు తెలుపగా, అది ఆనాటి నుండి ధరత్రి యందు కొనసాగుచున్నది.
అనగా ప్రతియొక్కరు పరంపరలో నున్న పూర్వపు ప్రామానణికులను సంపూర్ణముగా అనుసరింపవలెను. లేనిచో బుద్ధిమంతులైనవారు సైతము కృష్ణభక్తిభావనాయుత ప్రామాణిక కర్మల విషయమున మోహితులు కాగలరు. ఈ కారణము చేతనే ప్రత్యక్ష కృష్ణభక్తిభావన యందు అర్జునునకు ఉపదేశమొసగ శ్రీకృష్ణుడు నిర్ణియించుకొనెను. భగవానుడే ప్రత్యక్షముగా అర్జునునకు ఉపదేశించియున్నందున, అర్జునుని అనుసరించువారాలు నిక్కముగా భ్రాంతులు కాబోరు.
అసంపూర్ణమై యుండెడి ప్రయోగాత్మకజ్ఞానము ద్వారా ఎవ్వరును ధర్మవిధానమును నిర్ణియింపలేరని తెలుపబడినది. వాస్తవమునకు ధర్మనియమములు కేవలము భగవానుని చేతనే స్వయముగా నిర్ణయింపబడును. “ధర్మం తు సాక్షాత్ భగవత్ప్రణితమ్" (భాగవతము 6.3.19) ఎవ్వరును తమ అసంపూర్ణమగు మానసికకల్పనలచే వాటిని సృష్టింపలేరు.
కనుకనే బ్రహ్మ, శివుడు, నారదుడు, మనువు, సనకసనందనాదులు, కపిలుడు, ప్రహ్లాదుడు, భీష్ముడు, శుకదేవగోస్వామి, యమరాజు,జనకుడు, బలిమాహారాజు వంటి మాహాజనుల అడుగుజాడలను ప్రతియొక్కరు అనుసరింపవలెను. కృష్ణభక్తిభావనలో ఒనరింపబడిన కర్మయే భవబంధముల నుండి మనుజుని ముక్తుని చేయగలదు.

🌴 Chapter 4 - Jnana Yoga - 16 🌴
16 . kiṁ karma kim akarmeti kavayo ’py atra mohitāḥ
tat te karma pravakṣyāmi yaj jñātvā mokṣyase ’śubhāt
🌷 Translation :
Even the intelligent are bewildered in determining what is action and what is inaction. Now I shall explain to you what action is, knowing which you shall be liberated from all misfortune.
🌹 Purport :
Action in Kṛṣṇa consciousness has to be executed in accord with the examples of previous bona fide devotees. This is recommended in the fifteenth verse. Why such action should not be independent will be explained in the text to follow.
To act in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one has to follow the leadership of authorized persons who are in a line of disciplic succession as explained in the beginning of this chapter. The system of Kṛṣṇa consciousness was first narrated to the sun-god, the sun-god explained it to his son Manu, Manu explained it to his son Ikṣvāku, and the system is current on this earth from that very remote time. Therefore, one has to follow in the footsteps of previous authorities in the line of disciplic succession. Otherwise even the most intelligent men will be bewildered regarding the standard actions of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. For this reason, the Lord decided to instruct Arjuna in Kṛṣṇa consciousness directly.
It is said that one cannot ascertain the ways of religion simply by imperfect experimental knowledge. Actually, the principles of religion can only be laid down by the Lord Himself. Dharmaṁ tu sākṣād bhagavat-praṇītam (Bhāg. 6.3.19). No one can manufacture a religious principle by imperfect speculation. One must follow in the footsteps of great authorities like Brahmā, Śiva, Nārada, Manu, the Kumāras, Kapila, Prahlāda, Bhīṣma, Śukadeva Gosvāmī, Yamarāja, and Janaka. Only action performed in Kṛṣṇa consciousness can deliver a person from the entanglement of material existence.
