🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
స్వర్గలోకప్రాప్తి, ఉత్తమజన్మము,అధికారము వంటివానిని పొందుటకై వివిధములైన కర్మలను ఉపదేశించు వేదములందలి మధురమైన వాక్కుల యెడ అల్పజ్ఞులు అనురక్తులగుదురు.
🌻. భాష్యము :
సాధారణముగా జనులు మందమతులై యుందురు. అజ్ఞానకారణముగా వారు వేదమందలి కర్మకాండ భాగములోని సకామ కర్మల యెడనే అనురక్తులగుదురు. మదిర, మగువ, లౌకికవైభవములు పుష్కలముగా లభించు స్వర్గలోకమునందు జీవితము ననుభవించుటను తప్ప వారు వేరేదియును కోరరు. అట్టి స్వర్గలోకములను పొందుటకు పెక్కు యజ్ఞములు(ముఖ్యముగా జ్యోతిష్టోమ యజ్ఞములు) వేదములందు ప్రతిపాదింపబడినవి.
స్వర్గలోకప్రాప్తిని గోరువారు అట్టి యజ్ఞములను తప్పక ఆచరించియే తీరవలెనని వాటి యందు తెలుపబడినది. కాని అల్పజ్ఞులు ఇది యొక్కటే వేదముల సమస్త ప్రయోజనమని భావింతురు.

🌴 Chapter 2 - Sankhya Yoga - 42 🌴
42. yām imāṁ puṣpitāṁ vācaṁ pravadanty avipaścitaḥ
veda-vāda-ratāḥ pārtha nānyad astīti vādinaḥ
🌻 Translation :
Men of small knowledge are very much attached to the flowery words of the Vedas, which recommend various fruitive activities for elevation to heavenly planets, resultant good birth, power, and so forth.
🌻. Purport :
People in general are not very intelligent, and due to their ignorance they are most attached to the fruitive activities recommended in the karma-kāṇḍa portions of the Vedas. They do not want anything more than sense gratificatory proposals for enjoying life in heaven, where wine and women are available and material opulence is very common.
In the Vedas many sacrifices are recommended for elevation to the heavenly planets, especially the Jyotiṣṭoma sacrifices. In fact, it is stated that anyone desiring elevation to heavenly planets must perform these sacrifices, and men with a poor fund of knowledge think that this is the whole purpose of Vedic wisdom.
