32. అధర్మం ధర్మమతి యా మన్యతే తమసావృతా |
సర్వార్థాన్ విపరీతాంశ్చ బుద్ధి: సా పార్థ తామసీ ||
🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
ఓ పార్థా! అజ్ఞానము మరియు భ్రాంతి కారణముగ అధర్మమును ధర్మముగాను మరియు ధర్మమును అధర్మముగాను భావించుచు, ఎల్లప్పుడును తప్పుద్రోవను పోవునట్టి బుద్ధి తామసగుణమును కూడినట్టిది.
🌷. భాష్యము :
తమోమయమైన బుద్ధి సదా వర్తించవలసిన విధమునకు విరుద్ధముగ వర్తించుచుండును. ధర్మము కానటువంటి దానిని ధర్మముగా స్వీకరించు అట్టి బుద్ధి నిజమైన ధర్మమును నిరసించుచుండును.
అట్టి తామసబుద్ధి కలిగినవారు మహాత్ముడైనవానిని సాధారణ మానవునిగా, సాధారణమానవునిగా మహాత్మునిగా భావింతురు. సత్యమును అసత్యముగా భావించుచు.
అసత్యమును సత్యముగా వారు స్వీకరింతురు. అన్ని కర్మల యందును వారు కేవలము తప్పుద్రోవనే పట్టి పోవుదురు. కనుకనే వారి బుద్ధి తమోగుణమయమైనట్టిది.

🌴 Chapter 18 - Moksha Sanyasa Yoga - The Perfection of Renunciation - 32 🌴
32. adharmaṁ dharmam iti yā
manyate tamasāvṛtā
sarvārthān viparītāṁś ca
buddhiḥ sā pārtha tāmasī
🌷 Translation :
That understanding which considers irreligion to be religion and religion to be irreligion, under the spell of illusion and darkness, and strives always in the wrong direction, O Pārtha, is in the mode of ignorance.
🌹 Purport :
Intelligence in the mode of ignorance is always working the opposite of the way it should. It accepts religions which are not actually religions and rejects actual religion. Men in ignorance understand a great soul to be a common man and accept a common man as a great soul.
They think truth to be untruth and accept untruth as truth. In all activities they simply take the wrong path; therefore their intelligence is in the mode of ignorance.
