22. ఆదేశకాలే యద్దానమపాత్రేభ్యశ్చ దీయతే |
అసత్ర్కుతమవజ్ఞాతం తత్తామసముదాహృతమ్ ||
🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
అపవిత్రత ప్రదేశమునందు తగని సమయమున అపాత్రులకు ఒసగబడునటువంటిది లేదా తగిన శ్రద్ధ మరియు గౌరవము లేకుండా ఒసగబడునటువంటిదైన దానము తమోగుణప్రధానమైనదని చెప్పబడును.
🌷. భాష్యము :
మత్తుపదార్థములను స్వీకరించు నిమిత్తముగాని, జూదము నిమిత్తముగాని చేయబడు దానములు ఇచ్చట ప్రోత్సాహింపబడుటలేదు.
అటువంటి దానము తమోగుణ ప్రధానమై లాభదాయకము కాకుండును. పైగా అటువంటి దానము చేయుటవలన పాపులను ప్రోత్సాహించినట్లే యగును.
అదే విధముగా పాత్రుడైనవానికి శ్రద్ధ మరియు గౌరవము లేకుండా దానమొసగుటయు తమోగుణమును కూడినట్టి దానముగా భావింపబడును

22. adeśa-kāle yad dānam
apātrebhyaś ca dīyate
asat-kṛtam avajñātaṁ
tat tāmasam udāhṛtam
🌷 Translation :
And charity performed at an impure place, at an improper time, to unworthy persons, or without proper attention and respect is said to be in the mode of ignorance.
🌹 Purport :
Contributions for indulgence in intoxication and gambling are not encouraged here.
That sort of contribution is in the mode of ignorance. Such charity is not beneficial; rather, sinful persons are encouraged.
Similarly, if a person gives charity to a suitable person but without respect and without attention, that sort of charity is also said to be in the mode of darkness.
